EARA member, the Ernst Strüngmann Institute (ESI), Germany, has published a video showcasing its people and research, including the institute’s use of animals.
The film describes the animal studies conducted at ESI, including footage of its mouse facility, as Dr Martha Havenith explains her work on how monkeys and mice process visual information and why having an animal model is key, as this research could not be done on humans (7m:27s).
The video, introduced by Founding Director Professor Wolf Singer, demonstrates the successes of the institute thanks to its collaborative environment, which is due in part to strong links with another EARA member the Max Planck Society.
